Dear readers,
It has now been almost 12 years since I moved to Norway, and 4 years since I published my first book “En frosk i fjorden-Kunsten å bli norsk”. My life has changed tremendously in these past years, going from being friendless, single, and clueless about Norwegian life, language, culture and more, to being established in the country with a family.
I started this blog 8 years ago to vent my frustrations and cultural misunderstandings with Norwegian life, using humour for it to get easier. Topics I have been covering have evolved as my life in Norway has changed.
I wanted to give my readers a glimpse of what my first year in Norway was like, and this new book is meant to be entertaining but also educational for foreigners interested in Norway. It may be that you have a Norwegian partner and live abroad, or you have moved here with your family and are still struggling to understand everything happening around you. I explain how I learnt Norwegian, cracked the code of dating Norwegian men, adapted to the working culture and more.
Listen to Life in Norway‘s Podcast where its host David Nikel interviewed me about my life in Norway in the past years and about the book. The book has been since then quoted in Forbes as one of 5 revealing books about Scandinavia.
